I am looking for something that would let me record TV shows and transfer VHS movies to DVD. I have had a couple capture cards and they all sucked. I definitely want something that can do HDTV/digital cable. I am looking at the ATI HDTV Wonder because it got the highest rating on here for a card that can do both analog and digital cable. Plus I heard of ATI. I am also looking at ASUS because I like their motherboards. That's about the only reason reason. The Compro VideoMate DVB-T300 also got a decent rating, but I never heard of Compro.
I would also like to be able to transfer VHS tapes to my computer for editting, and then put the back on VHS tapes. From what I can tell, the capture card won't be able to do that, so I would need a video card that has video out and a sound card for the audio. Is that right?
