ok, so i am setting up a wireless network. here's the plan:
Internet =>
Computer1 (Realtek RTL 8139 Adapter) =>
Computer2 (D-Link DWL-G510 Wireless Card)
on computer2, the software that came with my d-link wirless card asks for me some information about the network:
-SSID
-Wirless Mode (Infrastructure or Ad-hoc)
-Authentication (Open, shared, WPA, WPA-PSK)
-Data encryption (Disabled or WEP)
where do i find this information?

Your best bet is to get a wireless router. You then hook up your internet connection to it and all the info (SSID, mode, authentication, WEP) is in there. You set up WEP yourself.
Here's your basic setup procedure
Not to be mean, but your best bet when trying to find specific answers is to go to a specific site (or google, yahoo, etc). You'd get more help here on video related problems. -
The short version: you can't have a wireless network with no access point, and if you DO have an access point, you'd know SSID and all that. What you got there is 2 clients, and no server.
Easiest way to add one is with a wireless router, as Supreme2K pointed out already. -
problem solved. thanks for the input fellas.
my roommates told me they had a wireless router. i thought it was already connected to their computer, but that realtek turned out to be a wireless card and not a router (as you said).. the router was in the closet.. soon as i found that it was a piece of cake. thanks again.
