    Hi all...

i have a very basic question, and would greatly appreciate if anyone could please answer it....
and i do apologize if i post on the wrong section!

I have here a DivX avi file made out of a DVDRip of a TV Series.

I got also an mp3 track of the actors commentaries for the same pilot episode.

My question is: how do i make a selectable audio stream between these two audio track, like i do with subtitles??

    Is it possible??

I want to be able to alternate between these two audio tracks while i watch the movie the same way i know i can alternate between two or more .srt subtitles files i put on the DVD.

If i need to reencode the DivX to add the other audio track, and that would make it possible to "alternate" between the 2 tracks on standalone DVD player playback, thats OK with me, and no problem if the file size gets bigger. Can u please tell me how to do that??

    Divx:
    Video Stream: 640x352, 23,976fps, Xvid Mpeg-4 Codec, 1191 kbps
Audio Stream: 48000Hz, Stereo, Mpeg Layer-3 Codec, 128 kbps

    Extra Audio:
    Mpeg Layer-3 Codec, 131 kbps

The latest version of Divx permits multiple audio tracks, but few standalone Divx players can recognize or use them.
This article explains some of it: http://www.betanews.com/article/DivX_6_Format_Offers_Alternative_to_DVD/1118867931

Was always possible with avi anyway (without .divx hacks). Still upto the player to handle it or not though.

i think you can use AVIMux, or nandub?

i only did it once, so dont remember how to.
you dont need to reencode the video.

the video player (media player classic, or vlc) should have a built-in stream switcher, or theres the morgan switcher (it comes with some video codecs dont know which)

    thanks for the help. but....

can i do it the SAME way i do with subtitles??

i mean, can i have ANOTHER audio track, maybe as AC3, and alternate between it and the original audio track inside the file??

is there a SIMPLE way of doing it, almost like the "simple" way of having 2 or more .srt subtitles and alternate between them??

not sure if im making myself clear!

    thanks!!

I'd suggest VirtualDubMod or AVI-Mux GUI. DivXMux or some kind of DivXMux based GUI should also work.

The whole alternating between tracks is as I said upto the player though. MPC and VLC as already suggested work fine.

You can do it this way:
Mux (multiplex), for instance, two AC-3 audio tracks with VirtualDubMod. Let's see it:
Start the application> open the video file you want (Divx or Xvid - encoded with no audio track at all) > Stream list> add your previously rendered AC-3 files> Go to Video> Direct Stream Copy> Save as> name the new file.
Then, you can create a new folder (let's name it as movie) and put the video file there (Divx or Xvid in an AVI container). Add in that folder, the **.SRT files (for the subtitles) that have been previously created. Pls note that you have to use en for English, fr for French, it for Italian, ge for German (and not de), pt for Portuguese and so on... (according to what is usually supported by the DVD players - in English). So, when you open your folder, you'll find there these following files:

    Folder (Movie)
    movie.avi (multiplexed with AC-3 file 1 and AC-3 file 2)
    movie.en.SRT
    movie.fr.SRT

That's all. Burn a data CD (if the file is smaller than 700 MB) or a data DVD. The new DVD players support both Divx and Xvid; you'll change the subs the same way you do with regular DVDs - with your Remote Control. If it works? It all depends on the DVD player.

Brow, o arquivo original possui atraso na legenda?
Does the orignal file have a delay when you choose to show the subs???
