    Let's see . . .where to begin . .

    No list of software used
    No description of method used
No description of source other than a vague "downloaded music videos"

If you can't at least give some details, don't expect to get useful answers.

    Big sorry there.

Bed time here, if you do have time to answer, I will thank you in advance, and get back tomorrow.

    Nero and Record now,

Not sure what you mean there, just burnt some music videos and films I have download, to DVD’s with the above software, I did put a short music video on a CD, and that plyed on my DVD,

Also tried to burn some films from a DVD that I copied to my hard drive, and then just burnt them to DVD ram ad DVD r, but no luck.

My DVD that I tried to play them on is a hdd and dvd, rd-xs30, not sure what my friends are.

The first place to look is to the upper left, for 'What is' DVD. There you will see the DVD specs, either PAL or NTSC, depending on what you use in your part of the world. I suspect PAL. You need to have compliant video and audio to make a DVD. Check what you have against those specifications. The Gspot program is a good way to see what specs your videos have.

Then you need to 'Author' your files. This converts them to the DVD format. You can look to the left under 'AUTHOR' in our guides to see different programs that can do this.

Finally you burn them on a DVD disc. You burner has to be compatible with the DVD media you use. You can check your DVD burner and see what is recommended also to the left under 'DVD Writers' and 'DVD Media'. Finally your player must be able to use the type and brand of your media.

You can find some 'All in One' programs that may be able to do most of this for you, but you have little control of the quality or the output. ConvertXToDVD is one. Nero is not a great converter, I would look elsewhere.

These type of questions can be answered by our guides, tutorials, Tool lists, and other places listed to the 'left' again. I would recommend you read our F.A.Q. also. <<<<<< Many answers there.

    And welcome to our forums.

Most of the videos or DVD’s I want to burn are called video clips, or Windows Media(TM) Video Files, that I have download, some are old black and white, and some are new and they play fine on my computer.

When he said author, he meant that the files will need to be converted. The file structure of a video dvd is composed of bup, ifo, &vob files. This step of converting to the files I just named is called authoring. It does not matter if it works on your computer, it must be authored in order to be a playable dvd in a stand-alone dvd player.
Believing yourself to be secure only takes one cracker to dispel your belief.

    Hi there,

Download DIKO, and am authoring a film now, but I did not think it would take so long, I might go back to my old way, as I think it could be faster, I put some leads from my comp to my DVD, then play the film (when I am out doing something else) on my computer, it's then also playng on my DVD, and taping on my DVD, then I burn it from my DVD.

This DIKO, still is doing it, and has one hour and 20 min to go, however I could do a few films when I go out, then burn them from my comp, as the burning from my comp is faster, but a very big thx for your help.

  11. Well, it is relatively easy. You look, as redwudz suggested "What is DVD", print the specifications or write it down. Then you load the files you have in GSpot. The programm would give you the properties of your file. Then you need to convert your file to match the specifications of a DVD. That's all.
