For some reason, that kinda reminds me of that guy that scanned albums and played them somehow.

A possible business oppertunity, buy one and set up a bay open to the public for them to "archive" their albums. The downside is in the media, that is, even with software it is hard to get a great copy of an album. However, there are some so rare that this could be a good gimick.
IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT?

That's one of the interesting things about this turntable. It declicks on the fly and will play records with worn grooves.

Not really into dropping $15,000 + for a turntable though.

I take it your company has one. I've seen and used these. They are pretty snazzy, but not worth me getting one for myself. I don't have THAT many LPs. Just enough to warrant still buying stylus needles.

nope - dont have one ...... in fact i never heard of them until just now ...

would like one though - maybe .... maybe not ... some of the 'sound' of a record is the fact it is analog ....

Ya know, there is a place around here that has done this for years!!
A local radio station's DJ opened a record/cd shop and has offered this for some time, and it's not cheap!!
Bring in your LP's and they transfer them to CD.... Make's me wonder why something like this would be legal yet they try to say all the things we want to do with our personally owned VHS, cd's & dvd's is not legal and control how many times (or not at all) we can back them up to our own blank media, ipods, portable mp3 players, pc's, ect. ect. ect.

That would be sweet to have though or if they made them for mass consumption as i have a ton of old albums that never made it to cd and would be nice to listen to them without worry of further degrading and i have not put needle to vinyl in YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. For 17,000, that player better talk to me as well. I am too much of a cheapskate.
