I am trying to author a DVD with video (using mpeg2 video) and slideshow (using the jpeg pictures) combination using DVD lab pro. I got stuck with couple of problems with the slideshow. I can not create random transitions when the slide changes like I used to do using Nero software. Other problem is when I add an audio song to the slide show, the last slide of the show stays playing until the song is finished, though I did not select "Match slides to audio duration" check box. Can some one help me how to add random transitions and fix the audio duration problem?
Thanks in advance,
Homevideoman.

If you had ticked match slideshow to duration it would have latered the display time of each slide so the show ran then length of the audio. If you want the audio to end early, edit it to the right length, then use it in DLP.
DLPs slideshow facility is pretty basic, and doesn't allow you to control the transitions.
This is all in the help files which ship with DLP.
I never use the built in slideshow facility because of this, and usually do slideshows in Vegas if I want something very specific, or MS Photostory if I want something fast.Read my blog here.

Thank you guns1inger for the info!
I have decided to use DVDAuthorGUI for authoring video and Nero for slide show and burn them separately in two different disks. Now I am looking for a tool to merge those two different dvds in to a single DVD. Could you please suggest me any tool?
Thanks,

You are going about it the hard way.
If you must use Nero, create the video_ts folder, then use rejig to demux the useful video and audio tracks from. You can then use these in DVDAuthorGUI as a new track, and have it all combined in one DVD.
If you simply try to merge two discs you won't be happy with the outcome.Read my blog here.

Thank you Guns1inger! I have tried using Nero for slide show and then demuxed using rejig. I have inserted m2v and ac3 files in DVDAuthorGUI to add as a new title, then I am getting an error saying "too many framed dropped" when I am authoring. Can you please suggest me any possible solution for the error message?
Thanks. -
For DVD's with a combination of videos and slideshows (with transitions), I like to use Ulead VideoStudio 9 or 10 Plus.
Very easy Slideshow wizard. It also edits video, and can Author a DVD...

Thank you George. Does Ulead VideoStudio supports subtitles for video?
Thanks. -

Thank you George and Guns1inger. My problem is solved, I have created slide show using Nero Vision express ver 4 and exported the slideshow to avi file, then encoded to mpeg2 ES using tmpgenc and then used the mpeg files in dvdauthorgui.
Thanks,
