    I hope somebody's got a suggestion:

    I've got subtitles in .srt-format and the encoded movie file. It's mpeg2 for DVD, used DGpulldown to 'change' framerate from 23,976 > 29,97.
    The subtitles are complete, but timing is way out of synch, so much so that only after 19 min. of video Subtitle Workshop will not play the video forward, as the timing of the titles does not correspond.

    Is there a quick and easy solution to this or would I have to adjust the subs one after the other? I've used the synchro-tool, but since I cannot play/wind the video to a point near - say - the end of the video, it doesn't help very much...

  2. What is the displayed framerate in Subtitle Workshop?

  3. Before attempting this, make a backup.

    Play back the original video and note the time for the last spoken word. You don't have to be very precise at this stage. In Subtitle Workshop with the subs and movie loaded, goto Edit/Timings/Adjust/Adjust Subtitles... or Ctrl+B, in the Simple tab, enter the timing into the last spoken line and click OK.

    Next, you would then use Ctrl+1 and Ctrl+2 or the appropriate icon to mark the first and last sync points to make the final adjustments.

    Thanks a lot guys!
    @kyemeng:
    I did as you suggested and it worked!

    Posing a problem during that process was the multiplexed mpg2-file I got from Womble mpg-vcr. Usually it's a great tool, but muxing the 'pulldown'-.m2v with the audio did not work properly.

    Since I was not sure, which application would mux it properly, I created an .avs file, using a .d2v of the .m2v-file and putting "audiodub" in, like this:
    Code:
    video=mpeg2Source("D:\path\file.d2v")
    audio=mpaSource("D:\path\file.mpa")
    audiodub(video,audio)
    Afterwards I used vfapi to create a fake .avi, loaded it into S.Workshop, loaded the subs, adjusted the time as suggested, and hey presto - the subs are perfectly in snych now! (Framerate of subs originally was 23.976, was changed automatically to the video's framerate of 29.97, when I loaded the video.)
