video card problems

i have installed a pc game in my programs but when i try to play it ,it reads the disk ok but then i get this message your video card do`s not appear to support hardware rasterization my video card is the N/VIDEA FX5200 128DDR anyone got any ideas what i should do i play lots of games and never had this trouble before the game i am trying is RISE&FALL CIVILISATION AT WAR thanks for any help

I'm not a gamer, so I do not really know the capabilities of your card for gaming, but I do know that card is a low-end card.
I also know that software rasterization means using the CPU to rasterize shapes (turn a shape into pixels) instead of letting the GPU ('Graphics Processing Unit') on the graphics card do it. Software rasterization is slower than hardware rasterization.
It seems unlikely that a modern video card would not support hardware rasterization, but who the hell knows about this one? Maybe you have never before played a game requiring it, or else your card is defective, or maybe it really wasn't designed to support hardware rasterization.

Did you install the latest nvidia drivers and DirectX 9.x?

I have played the latest games with my FX5200, slow as hell, but never had any problems.
