I just wanted to mention that there seems to be some discrepancies in the instructions for installing the RealVideo support files.

The instructions say to use the "macos-gcc3-pb" / "All clients" link at http://forms.helixcommunity.org/helix/builds/?category=helixdnaclient

However, there does not seem to be a link for "macos-gcc3-pb"

    Thanks.

I noticed that too. So I downloaded from the "a stable build" link, which is years old, and finally Real Video conversion works great

The instructions also state: If you have problems in getting all the above, or if the recent build does not work well, you may download instead a stable build of reallib from this link.

Edit: Ah, TugBoat beat me to it.

I've experiences the same problem as the only download seems to be for linux, including the stable build. Anyway i downloaded the folder and placed it in the ffmpegx folder of the application support but .rm conversion is still not possible. Not only that though, but it can't even get to that stage, as soon as you attempt to open the .rm file ffmpegx hangs for about a couple of minutes.

I had the same problem as Muzzlebogan, but then I let the application alone for half an hour (!) or so, the RM file finally loaded (time probably depends on the size of the file). But then comes the next problem: it seems that some RM files can be converted and some can't. Files encoded with the RV10 and RV20 codecs seem to work, but RV4O files definitely don't work. One reason may be that MPlayer can't play them (just sound with no picture). So that's why nothing happens when you click the Play button. As stated on the ffmpegX homepage: "To test your reallibs install, open a RealVideo file in ffmpegX and click "Play". If you see the movie, then the install is successful." Well, sometimes you see the movie, sometimes you don't. Anyone has an idea how to convert RM files with RV40 (Real Player 10 format)? And also: why does it take half an hour to load a RM file? It's very quick with other files. Thanks to anyone who has an idea.
