Their is only one fix.
Convert to the NTFS file system. It's limit is like one petabyte.
Now the catch 22
Only Windows NT, 2000 and XP support NTFS. -
One question I have on your response If I install windows Xp do I have to do anything to get around the 4gb limit or is it a feature that is standard with the xp O.S Like fat32 is with ME?

i'd think youd have to convert.
Well, I am the slime from your video.
Oozin' along on your livin'room floor. -
if you do an upgrade you will have to convert your file system after, no problem XP does all the work, if you do a fresh install XP will ask you in the beginning which file system you want to use.

Why not just use VirtualDub or AVI_IO, those programs allow for spilling... meaning you can record a file, and when it hits the 4 Gig limit (or any limit you specify, I use 1.9 Gigs), it'll spill over and start capturing into a new file... then you can attach those files seemlessly and there'll be no break in the video. I do this all the time with Windows 98 (and FAT32) and can capture up to 6 1/2 hours in my 60 Gig hard drive.
