    Sorry i've really looked all over I thought at one time I found a link to down load a patch to fix the fat32 4gb file limit so you could capture a complete film verse 20 minutes If you could help thanks

    Their is only one fix.

    Convert to the NTFS file system. It's limit is like one petabyte.


    Now the catch 22

    Only Windows NT, 2000 and XP support NTFS.

    One question I have on your response If I install windows Xp do I have to do anything to get around the 4gb limit or is it a feature that is standard with the xp O.S Like fat32 is with ME?

    if you do an upgrade you will have to convert your file system after, no problem XP does all the work, if you do a fresh install XP will ask you in the beginning which file system you want to use.

Why not just use VirtualDub or AVI_IO, those programs allow for spilling... meaning you can record a file, and when it hits the 4 Gig limit (or any limit you specify, I use 1.9 Gigs), it'll spill over and start capturing into a new file... then you can attach those files seemlessly and there'll be no break in the video. I do this all the time with Windows 98 (and FAT32) and can capture up to 6 1/2 hours in my 60 Gig hard drive.
