First extract what's in the bin files (VCDGear will do this). They will 'usually' be mpeg files. Encode each file to mpeg2 format-encode SEPARATELY; do not join at this stage-it can result in sync issues.
Once encoded-author them to DVD spec (add each file into app:-track1, track2 etc). I use TDA-excellent for easy use. This will then join them for you and output as AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders with both files contained within. Burn to disc. Job done!

TIP: If adding chapters to each file, then delete the 1st chapter of the 2nd file; that way you should be able to avoid a very slight transition between files. Generally, when you add chapters, the app quite often puts a chapter at the very beginning of each file. This way you avoid that 1st chapter of the 2nd file.

Depends on what's inside those BINs. A bin is just like a bucket - it can contain just about anything.
If it's VCD, then yes, VCDGear wil do the trick, but then, you don't have to reencode, as a VCD mpg can be authored right away with TDA.

True, can author without encoding, if sticking with VCD-but VCD is still mpeg1 though. If full DVD spec is required then surely you need to encode to mpeg2.

VCD video is DVD specs. Reencoding to mpeg-2 will only lower quality further. The not DVD specs about a VCD mpg is the audio sampling fq, but TDA fixes that part transpatently.
So, authoring a VCD specs mpg with TDA results in a 100% Video DVD specs DVD.

Thanks Mats. Yes, knew about the audio but not the video. I've only being doing this for about last 2-3yrs and i never knew that!!!!

I remember when i started out and knew absolutely nothing, i just read a load of stuff; a bit here, a bit there and they all seem to say that, to get to dvd format, then you must first get to mp2. I naturally assumed that every file i get, MUST be be encoded to mp2 format!

How wrong am I. It just shows that i should have read MORE!!!!!! Thanks again and apologies for the naiviety.
