I was cleaning up my system and found a bunch of .viv and .m2p movie files. I found something to play/convert m2p files but I can’t find anything so far to convert the .viv files. Just curious to see what they are before I delete them. Any suggestions?

Also when I converted the m2p files they had no sound. Now quite possible the original had no sound either. I can’t recall. But is there a codec/player that can play these files I can use to confirm if the in fact they have no sound?

Thanks in advance for any help!

SUPER may be able to convert the vivoactive files. .m2p could be the file extension for the Canopus MPEG-2 video file. If so, you should be able to check it with Gspot 2.52 to see if there is any audio.

Super doesnt convert and gspot shows n/a for m2p files in both audio and video.

Looks like mplayer can play vivo files, as I've read here

    http://www.mplayerhq.hu/design7/info.html

If so, mencoder should convert them

    https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=MPlayer

    Command line tool, though

Thanks. Played around with it for a while but its too annoying for me to persavere with it. It didnt detect any of my installed codecs. Would be nice if it had a gui. Even a simple one.
