    Hello again...

This time I'm having a flicker problem.

    Working in Premiere 2.0

Captured footage NTSC 29.97 Lower field

I exported progressive. Is this my mistake?

    Encoded in Encore.

When I playback on tv, I have flicker problems. Very jittery video, almost makes you dizzy looking at it, as well as horizontal banding issues especially during dynamic (fast) movements of a subject.

To fix this, should I use the Field Options settings in Premiere and set it to Flicker removal for every clip? Or is this simply due to an interlacing setting?

Watching the exported m2v on WMP doesn't have the jitteryness but still has the horizontal banding problem.

    THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!!!

Depends on the source and capture device.

If this is normal video (not film source) and if the capture device is a generic tuner, then top field first is the correct project setting and encoding top field first (interlace) will get you full motion 59.94 fields per second. Consider this the default unless you have a reason to encode progressive.

Progressive conversion can be done several ways with different affects on motion. This oftern results in half motion resolution and flicker on an interlace display (tv).
    Here are the basics.

This explains film telecine, line doubling for progressive display and progressive DVD player basics.
