    Newbie looking for help here.

I've been using ffmpegX for a few months now. By reading through this forum, I've been able to figure out how to convert .avi into DVD format with very few problems.

Lately I've come across a problem where the sound is VERY distorted when I try to watch a DVD on television. I've been using the same steps, but for some reason, the deeper bass sounds seem like they're going to blow out the speakers to my television.

I recently installed Divx 6.0 on my Mac. Could that have something to do with it?

I'm at a loss here. I've tried looking for similar problems before I posted but couldn't find anything. Does the problem have something to do with AC-3?

    Any suggestions?

I am having a similar problem, but it has a slight variation. When I convert the avi to mpeg2enc and encode the audio as an mp3 and then burn it through toast, the sound becomes slighlty off. By the end of the movie there is a gap between when the actors lips move and about a second later the sound kicks in. It looks like a badly dubbed movie. Anyone have any suggestions?

MPEG streams should not have mp3 audio. Rather choose mp2.
