Is there a software fault with this forum or something?
Everytime I visit I have got to log in. This is despite clicking on the remember me box. And then all threads are marked as read for some reason.
Sort it out mods. This is getting very annoying

Do you by any chance have cookies disabled (in general, or for this site in particular)?

I've been having this same trouble for at least a month now. It's just this site, nowhere else online.

Which browser are you using ?
Mozilla may be set to "not save encrypted data" , and clear internet cache by default ... which will cause this problem .
Internet explorer :
Watch out for those "utilities" that do clean up's ... goodbye cookies . -
Tested with Firefox & Explorer - works ok. Do you have to logon again even if you don't shut down your browser?
-
Yes. Some days it is everytime I visit this forum. Other times it will be two or three days before I am logged out again.
It only happens here. -
Ok.. it is happening intermittently to me too, once I logged out and logged in again with the checkbox ticked.
-
I use Firefox and IE both.
Most commonly, it happens when I switch browsers. I get logged out of one or both at that time.
Other times it happens when I close the browser for a few minutes, then re-open it. I find myself logged out.
Sometimes it's purely random.
It's only this site logging me out.
...............
With CDfreaks.com, I get another weird error. If I click on a link online (google search results, for example) that goes to their forum, I'm not logged in.
If I use a bookmark or my browser history, I will be logged in just fine.
And if I reload the link-opened page, after opening another window in the same browser from bookmark/history, it'll suddenly be logged in too.
.....................
Other than that, I've had no problems with forums online. Some forums I only visit once a month, and find I'm still logged in just fine.Want my help? Ask here! (not via PM!)

Some boards set the time out for that to a few days. Some set it to forever, so it always remembers.
But you can use Form or PW manager tools in Netscape to fill in PW forms. -
Robbins: If you get a new IP you must relogin again....if you use for example AOL you may get new ips all the time...

But why is it only here?
Been using AOL for over 5 years, never had a problem until a few months ago. -
You should have same problems with all phpbb forums( if they use the latest version). The auto login feature keeps the IP and if you get a new IP you wont get automatically logged in.
-
Yep. AOL here. That dymanic IP address thingy I guess, but the funny part is that it is so spuratic (SP) I might go three or four days with out a problem and then I can get logged out between thread changes or anything in between. Go figure? I am thinking about changing my user name and password to like one key each to speed things up for the log on. But don't worry about me, I am used to it.
IS IT SUPPOSED TO SMOKE LIKE THAT? -
i did some small changes to the login ip check....let me know if you notice any difference

1 day, login free
not an issue, just feedback
