I'm looking for a piece of software to help me copy passages from videos.

The only functionality I'm looking for is to be able to quickly and comfortably be able to copy and save my favorite clips from .wma videos.

I looked at the tools section of this site and I'm sure most of the video editers listed there can accomplish this. But I don't know which one is best suited for my simple needs. That's why I'm asking here.

I'm looking for something that is easy to use and effortless to use.

    thanks!

Try windows movie maker. Pretty good chance it can read that.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

    Thanks for the advice.

I tried it out. I'm able to split a movie into several parts on the time line. But I havn't been able to save the parts as indipentent movie clips. Is it possible to do that?

Also when I use the save as movie option the output movie becomes of worse quality than the input movie was.

If I could get these things do work then windows movie maker would make the job.

But if there is any software that can copy and save passages and that doesn't need do decompress and reompress the video file (WMA->MSWMM->WMA) then that would be even better?

    thanks!

I just downloaded Steeper. That is a pretty awesome software that does pretty much what I want, and I'm content with it.

There is one functionality I am missing though. I'd like to be able to pick start and end points for the cutting on a time line. Is there any similar piece of software that can do that?
