    I'm not good at explaining, so bear with me. Whenever I burn video files to a DVD, They turn out just fine. Except, whenever viewing on a regular TV, you can only see a limited view. Now, this is a problem, because there are subtitles built into the video file, and, I would like to see all of the file on the TV. I've tried this on varying sizes of Television, and the same problem occured. It's like the Video file is to big for the TV screen. So, how can I fix this?

    It's called overscan. Do a forum search for it, there are lots of threads on how to do what you want.

    fan-sub anime - they never seem to learn.

    As the Troll has pointed out, it is overscan. Search for a combination of Overscan, FitCD and Avisynth and you will find a dozen methods to fix it. You will have to re-encode the file though.

    Ok, when using Fulci's guide, posted up there, I got through most of it fine. When using the TMPGEnc Plus. I got there and dragged the file from my desktop to the program. When I tried to open it from the program it'self, it didn't show up, so I just dragged it to the program. When I dragged it there, the preview screen popped up with a strange distorted black screen with red words that read: AVI Source couldn't locate a decompressin for ...something xvid. Then it said the source in red text below that. Other than that it looks like it works... So then I click start. It pops up with an error box that says: The resolution of the video is illegal.
    > The windows size needs to be set between 8x8 and 4088x4088.
    >The width and height of window needs to be multiple of 8.

    Along with all of this I don't know where to adjust the Video Arrange Method nor the input aspect ratio.

  6. Hi-

    Someone else can help you with the TMPGEnc settings, as I don't use it. You shouldn't have to do much, though, as it's already been done in the script. The error message that TMPGEnc gives you when you start the encoding is useless.

    As for the error message when you drag the script over the first time, you didn't give us the complete one, but you're missing something. You haven't installed something. Probably an XviD codec. In any event, open the script in VDub(Mod) and give us the complete error message. Also post the AviSynth script you're using. Also, we'll need the particulars of the AVI file, especially the codec used for the video and audio. A GSpot screenshot would be nice.

    I was asked by SilverWind to comment on his problems here but I could not have said it any better than manono just did above ...

    Need a GSpot screen grab for details of the original file along with the AviSynth AVS script you are using.

    ... it tells you how to go about doing a "proper" screen grab and how to post it.

    All you have done is put a larger size into the html, while leaving the actual file small. All I see now is a larger, but unreadably blurry, image.

    Well the Gspot screen is appearing normal for me in the first post now but in the second post I just have to click on it making it open in another window then click it again to make it full size ... odd ... but it is very readable.

    It says the resolution is 512x384 [4:3 ratio] at 23.976fps and it has 128kbps 48k CBR MP3 audio. It is XviD and GSpot says, "codec(s) are installed" but ...

    Although hard to read (I had to blow it up which made it nearly unreadable) the VirtualDub error says, "AviSyth Open Failure. AviSource: couldn't locate a decompressor for fourcc xvid" ... it then mentions line 2 of the AviSynth script being the problem.

    The script looks fine to me so what's the problem?

    I think you need to install XviD again or at least ffdshow.

    That should solve the problem.

    P.S.

    You can cut the "junk" in your AviSynth script so it looks like this:

    Code:
    AVISource("C:\Documents and Settings\Drake\Desktop\[K-F_AKUPX]_One_Piece_001_[44899E42].avi")
    LanczosResize(656,448,0,0,512,384)
    AddBorders(32,16,32,16)
    ConvertToRGB24()

    Install it and make sure it is set up to decode XviD content (which I think is the default but I'm not sure of it).

    Newest stable XviD link ---> CLICK HERE
    - Download the file at the top of the page called XviD-1.1.0-30122005.exe

    ffdshow link ---> CLICK HERE
    - Downlaod the file at the top of the page called ffdshow-20051129.exe

    Remember to re-boot after installing XviD and ffdshow ... at that point your problems should be gone!
