I'm trying to convert a movie to mp4 so I can transfer it to my iPod. So far there's been nothing but problems, i've used cucusoft's ipod converter, winAVI mp4 converter and imTOO iPod converter. Whenever I convert and test it (with quicktime 7.1 pro) I always get an error 37(it says a bad filename or volume name was encountered), when going to iTunes, it does not import (going to file>import or file>add file or drag and drop). This problem is consistent through all those programs that i've used. Any suggestions or help?

    Thanks again.

You mentioned three problematic programs in a row. Try SUPER next or probably better is Videora iPod Converter. On the bad filename. Make sure the name is 8 characters or less and only numbers or letters, nothing else. More may cause a problem.

    And welcome to our forums.

    It worked! Thanks red!

Edit: The audio develops a large delay as the movie progresses, any way to fix this problem? (With videora ipod converter)

A couple of things come to mind. What format is the original video? If it's something like Xvid or Divx, look for MP3 VBR audio. You can check this with Gspot 2.52 or drop it into VirtualDub Mod or the regular VD. VBR can usually be cured by extracting in VDM to a WAV and converted to CBR MP3 and then combined back in.

If the audio gets more out of sync towards the end of the video and it's not VBR, the likely problem is that the video and audio are different lengths. Not so easy to fix, you have to adjust either the video or the audio length. If the audio has the same sync error throughout the length of the video, then you can add a audio offset, + or - with VDM or VD. Sync problems can get complicated.
