chapters in movie help

i riped a movie from the dvd to my mac and need to know how make chapters so when u go in to the chapter menu i see them. to burn it i will be useing idvd 6 and i also have imovie if i need to use imovie let me know also someone tell me how to do this please?

If you can bring the movie into iMovie, you may add chapters there that iDVD will recognize and automatically create a chapters menu.

I'm sure there are other apps that will permit you to add chapters directly to the VIDEO_TS structure; some helpful member will surely chime in soon. Be patient.

You'd have to convert the ripped VOB to either an AVI or MOV,
but then you could drag and drop it into Toast 7, and create chapters. ( it will not work on MPEG-2 files)

You could also, simply demux the files, import them into DVDSP,
and then add chapters markers, create your own unique
Chapter menu,
and then rebuild a new DVD.

But Rumple's suggestions are the only way I know how to do in
iMovie to iDVD.
