I have a .avi video file that came with .idx subtitles. The problem is, Nero (the burning software that came with my drive) doesn't support subtitles, and apparently one of the best fixes is to hard-code them into the video. I used VobSub to convert to .srt format, which also allows me to correct grammer problems if i wanted to.
My problem is that when I use the .srt subtitles, there are two lines of subtitling appearing. The .srt file is the only other file in the folder with the movie. The first subtitle is formated the way I wanted using VobSub, but the .srt now added a second unformatted line of subtitling right underneath the video (it's widescreen). Is there any way to disable this second line of subs?
Any help would be AWESOME.

Your statements and questions are not clear.
First, Nero burning software has nothing to do with subtitle support. It will burn whatever data you wish to burn on CD or DVD.
As for the subtitle appearing twice - first tell what player do you use. You are probably watching the video file on your PC.
First subtitle which you see during playback, should be the .idx.
The second is the .srt which you have edited. If you disable the Vobsub filter, you should not see that second (.srt) subtitle, or you should have the option (player) to disable that subtitle.
