Hi, At the moment i am using Cucusoft AVI to VCD DVD MPEG Creator Pro and that seem to be working correctly becaus I can play the movie using Nero Showtime. I have tried using the burner which comes with the the cucusoft software but that comes up with the error message saying:

Then I read on this forum to convert the avi files to DVD where it is in the Video and Audio folders and then use nero burning rom to burn the video. This is the log from the error which i get when burnign using Nero. I have recently updated by firmware to the ighest i can find.

After buying Nero i found that it came with the NEro Vision software whcih i gave a go and took its times doing everything and then said not enough room on disk.
After this i tried to change the blank DVD disk which I am burning to because I did at first go for the cheapest PC line DVD+R and bought imation DVD+R and that hasnt made a difference because they still dont burn correctly.
If anybody has any sugestions then i would be listening and welcome

Sorry if this post is a bit too long and ware out your mouse roller ball, but out of the two logs which i have included i was unsure what was useful and what is not useful

Firstly : dvd
Audio_ts = nothing
Video_ts = your dvd content here (ifo , bup , vob)

=======================
Posssible cure :
Locating possible issue's will require returning to basic's on pc as follow .
Apear's pc may be getting off track with device release .
1: Disconnect all drive's (leave floppy if installed)
2: On ide0 , connect main hd with os , set to cable select , connect to end of ide0 cable.
3: On ide1 , connect dvd burner , set to cable select , connect to end of ide1 cable.
4: Restart pc .
5: Confirm basic burn setup by : Grab 1 x verbatim dvd-r , burn test at 4x .
------------------------------------------------
If test fail's , possible cause's :
1: Alway's suspect media first ... try another brand .
2: Optical unit at fault .. alway's bios update when all else fail's .
Without another pc , or dvd burner , it would be impossible to tell if optical unit itself is at fault / faulty .
If test burn succesfull , conflict exist's with other optical unit's .
1: Connect second hd to ide0 (cable select) , connect to middle connector of ide0 cable .
Repeat burn test ... should be fine .
=======================
Once you have reached this stage , it's a possibilty the conflict is due to second optical unit connected to same channel as dvd burner ... may be faulty , need bios update ...
Of course there have been a couple of report's with this same error , all failing with same error ... possible this is a problem in newer version of nero ... may be issue of handling 2 optical unit's on same ide channel ... but you won't know that until you have done the "back to basic" test setup .
Of course ... hp unit's are not on most xmas list's either ... many complaint's ... consider sony / lg / pioneer if wanting to replace unit .
Liteon make good reader's , and fried frizbee's . -
I see you're using an HP200 writer with the latest firmware:
1.Is the media 2.4 or 4x rated?...it can't handle faster media.
2.Make sure DMA is enabled.
3.Can you burn CD's?...if so the DVD laser is fried(see 5),if not see 4.
4.Use a new IDE cable...they wear out after awhile.
5.The writer is tired...time to get a new one. -
I have tried most of the adivce given an i desided to change my software to the TMPGEnc DVD Author 1.6 and TMPGEnc 3.0 XPress.
Here the most stangest thing is i also changed the blank dvd i was using to start with and used a Sony DVD+RW after the sicknesses of keep wasting dvds and this worked correctly with no errors given when burning and worke don dvd player.
After this I then did the exact same thing with the software though used the blank DVD+R Pc Line and tried using imation DVD+R and the error message came up again on both.
This is the most strangest thing which has happened after check the connection and everyhting which you told me it must just be the DVD's i was using. Seems a bit of a waste though to be using DVD+RW to stored my DVD's on.
