    G'day
I hope you can help me.
After installing a software program that included DirectX 9c, this log in screen started to come up every time I boot or reboot. Never before it started this way and I don't kike it. Can this be eliminated without re installing my HDD image. I have some SW updates and new programs since I took this image.
I'll be grateful for any help

You want it to look like that ?

Go to User Accounts and click on your user. If you have an option to Remove My Password, click on it.

Go back to the main User Accounts screen, and click on Change the way users log on or off. Make sure both Use the Welcome Screen and Use Fast User Switching are not ticked.

Assuming you have no other live user accounts, and no password, you should log straight into windows following a restart.

Goto START -> RUN and type "control userpasswords2"

See the checkbox that says "users must enter a username and pass" ? Disable it (uncheck the box).

    Problem solved.

MS updates like .NET framework often cause your computer to require a login. Easy enough to fix.

Another optional would be to install TweakUI for Win XP and from the settings within TwekUIXP, there is an option to login automatically without inputing a password (autologin option).

    Hi guys
I'm sorry to say this, but, nothing worked. When i tried Budz fix I had a big blue screen, with nothing on it, for about ten minutes, When finally started the desktop had only a few icons. I suppose that was in safe mode. I don't know. I did a system restore but nothing changed. I decided to re install the HDD image from June 11 06. Lost some updates.
Thank you for all the help.
