Hi, I am trying to capture analog signals from my dish network DVR and make DVDs out of them.
But, I am unable to do so. Please, any help is appreciated.
The steps I have used are..
* Connect RCA output (audio and vid) from DVR to the input of the camcorder.
* Turn on the "AV --> DV" in the camcorder.
( i can see the vid / sound from the DVR on my camcorder)
* Then, I connected the DV output of my camcorder to the DV port on my laptop.
But, I am unable to see the vid on my computer when i try to capture using Nero or Pinnacle. I can control the camcorder with the controls on my laptop; but just cannot find the vid / audio.
Any suggestions...?? Thanks.

If your camcorder is like my older Optura PI it doesn't work in passthrough mode. I have to record onto DV tape, then capture on the computer. One thing you can try though: many DV camcorders only perform passthrough when there is no tape in the drive.
