I would like to reinstall my OS and can't find the boot floppys I use to have. Is there a boot image I can downloard that can go on cdr. If not can you tell me where to get the files to put on floppys. Another question would be do I need a boot disk or floppys. Is there a was to install Windows 2000 without them.

    Thanks in advance,

From what I remember you don't need the floppys for WINDOWS 2000 PRO. All you need is the WINDOWS 2000 PRO cd disc. I've never used floppys to install WINDOWS 2000 PRO.

The ideal way is to boot off the Windows 2000 CD.

But... if you aren't able to do that you can make boot floppies from the W2K install CD.

All you have to do is run the "makeboot.exe" program from the "BOOTDISK" folder on the install CD. You may need 1-3 floppies... I'm not sure since I haven't used a floppy disk in years.

Some pc's have the floppy drive set to boot first. Go into your BIOS of your computer and change it to boot to your cdrom first. Then you'll be able to boot to the WINDOWS 2000 CD and you can then install it.

Just FWIW, http://www.bootdisk.com has a plethora of boot disks you can download. Mainly for older OS's like Win 95/98/NT, but some handy stuff there nevertheless.
    If in doubt, Google it.
