  1. I have looked at some of the How To's but would like suggestions based on my system(s)and others experience. First here is what I have to work with.

    Athlon 750 512mb, ATI 128pro 30g 7200 HD and
    Celeron 850 o/c to 933, 384mb 40g 5400 HD
    Cards, matrox mystyqe 220 with Raindbow Runner (yea I've had it a while), Pinnacle Pro TV, and Pinnacle DC10 plus.
    just found the DC10 for $25.00 at staples on closeout NIB.

    Software: Premire 5, Video Factory 1.0 with DVD mpeg plugin upgrade, Videowave 4.0, Nero 5564

    Win 98 or WinME

    I would like to author VCD or SVCD of home video HI8 and caputres off my DirecTV sat system, I have an HD system that outputs in 480i from the HD box along with component and VGA to the monitors in 1080i also. Burnig to VCD/SVCD
    for archives and send to frends and releatives with DVD players of the final productions.

    Well, I have a Atlon 700, with a ATI AIW 128.
    I got the best results using the Ulead DVD Factory under Windows XP.
    Capture 480x480 Avi files, and convert it with TMPEnc to SVCD.
    Choose CQ quality. You will be able to fit 60 minutes in a 80 M CD with very good quality.
