So what is it. Found it in startup on msconfig a few days ago. Is it necessary or is it a bug. Anyone know![]()

Try a Google search for "BARBAX"
I don't have a clue. No search seems to come up with anything. It may be just a random assemblage of letters. I would regard it as a trojan or virus unless proved otherwise.
You might try a Trendmicro online virus scan. It does a fair job of finding odd viri or trojans. http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ If you get nowhere and there doesn't seem to be any problems with the PC, ignore it for now. Keep your virus and trojan programs updated. I'm not sure there is much else you can do. -
BarBaxisburn appears to be associated with the on-line drinking game Barbax.
It is a piece of spyware. although at this time there appears to be no removeal tool.
Use RegEdit to search the Registry - record the location then delete all references to the
spyware. Delete the file from the HD.
As is the case with Keyloggers, this could be difficult to find and delete.
You can disable it in MSCONFIG
Also check Task Manager Processes tab to make sure its not running. -
