Ok, I have some anime episodes that came in both ogm and mkv format. I convereted them to avi for play back on my divx dvd player. The ogm files where pretty easy to deal with and once converted, the played back just fine on the DVD player.
Now, its the mkv thats giving the most trouble. Some videos have "VFR" xvid or "AVC1" codec and when I convert them to avi, the play back on the dvd player would be very jittery. However, it plays back fine on the computer( no surprise there). I was wondering if there any methods of fixing this problem or is this a problem with the DVD player. Also, is there a proper way to convert mkv's that use VFR or AVC1 to avi?
Here is what I have/Use
MeWiG GUI(mencoder)
MediaCoder (mostly for the ones with AVC1 codecs)
VirtualDubMod
Philips divx ultra DVD player(DVP 5140)
