    hi guys.

im trying to establish the best format to use with svcd2dvd?.

    if i rip a dvd
1.whats the best program to use?
2.what format do i convert it to for best quality/ease of use with svcd2dvd?.
    i.e xvid/divx/kvcd/mpeg1/mpeg2 etc etc.

for example i want to put a trilogy set onto 1 dvd5 disk.
so i am looking to rip the dvd into a format that is excellent quality, but easy to use.

thank you in advance for any help or advise.

  2. The best ripper has always been DVD Decrypter but newer DVD's will require something more up to date. Try DVDFab Decrypter or AnyDVD for ripping.

Ideally, once it's ripped, I would recommend DVD2SVCD with CCE to get a good quality file in DVD format with the proper output size, then use SVCD2DVD to author. That being said, CCE is prohibitively expensive.

If not using DVD2SVCD, I would try an XVID conversion (do a guide search), then run through SVCD2DVD to convert and author.

3 movies on a DVD5 will be a tight squeeze as far as quality. If you have a dual layer burner, I would put the trilogy on a DVD9 with SVCD2DVD.
