Hello everybody,
I am using pinnacle studio 10 and I have a serious problem that I am hoping u will be able to help me to solve it.
I am now editing a movie that is something like an hour(the movie itself is combained from 5 movies that i filemed).
I created a menu with five buttons (linking to the start of each main movie).
I also wanted to create additional chapters without linking them to the menu(although
I have only five buttons the program automatically links the chapters to the menu).
how can I do it?
thanks for the help.

This is called multi-level menu.
Your DVD will contains 5 different "movies" and each should have its own chapter points.
The very top level menu allows you to select one of those "movies".
Selecting one of those will bring you to the chapter menu of the selected movie.
Here is how to do it.
1) With the video all combined in the timeline, split the video at the point where you want to have chapter mark.
2) go to the start of the last "movie" (5-th), drag a menu there. You will see a menu inserted right at the start of the 5-th movie with one button per chapter marks
3) go to the start of the next last "movie" (4-th), drag a menu there, etc....
4) repeat for the 3-rd, 2-nd and first in that order
5) NOW, drag a menu before the chapter menu of the first movie. PS will not link it to anything since every chapters (split point) are already linked to one button of a menu automatically by PS
6) double click on the newly created menu, select the first button which is highlighted, then go right click on the chapter menu of the first movie, this allows you to link the button to this menu
6) select the second button of the main menu, then right click on the chapter menu of the second movie, etc.....
7) when all done, you many want to edit each menu to put in proper texts, color, etc...
I have done a lot DVD this way and it works great.ktnwin - PATIENCE -
Ok so basicly you say that there isn't a possibility to create a chapter without linking it to the menu?

Thanks a lot.I did as u told me and it works.
but the last problem which I have is the following:
between two chapters there is like a noise from the previous chapter although I am in the new chapter already.
How can I fix it?
thanks a lot for the help. -
If there is noise between two chapters, then at the split point the video must not look too good.
You can either cut that little video section or add a transition in between to blur that out.
PS software is good at putting the chapter mark exactly where you specify it, and I never had any issue going from one chapter to the next. The video & audio are always clean.ktnwin - PATIENCE -
Well the odd thing is that in the preview of the program I see no problem but after I create the movie I see a problem.
