If you're starting with MP3 then it's a fair bet that some of the quality has already been lost forever - it's a generic thing with highly compressive formats. Far better to start off with WAV files if possible.

If that's not the case, then I don't see any reason why you couldn't open the MP3 files directly, do your volume enhancements and cleanup and then export as WAV files. They key when working with compressed material (be it video or audio) is to limit the number of recompressions, as each re-compression will affect quality.
    If in doubt, Google it.

There is very little you can do you "clean them up" as MP3 is a butchering, lossy compression scheme. If you converted them to mp3, or downloaded them as mp3, that is the quality you are stuck with.

MP3Gain will 'normalize' the audio levels of your MP3s without re-encoding them. It will do batches of them to normalize either individual songs (loudest part of that song moves up or down to 0 dB) or albums (loudest part of the whole group moves up or down to 0 dB).

ok... well what i did was change the normal volume to 99 while all the songs was selected but there is no way to apply it to all the songs... i see where i can apply gains but no volume.

As the man says the "normalise" function will "average Out " the volume for you automatically. If you are writing MP3's to CD I believe the likes of Nero has a normalise feature and will also do the converting to CD's for you all in a oney. There are other programs which do similar i believe. I have used Nero in the past and it has worked perfectly fine.

    Hope this helps...good luck

Then use 'Track Analysis' and 'Track Gain' settings. That will do each track by itself.

you can directly convert mp3 files to wav files. But regarding , changing the volume we have to do it only in the wav file form. To give you an information, whatever the conversion may be (wav to mp3 or mp3 to wav ) there is sure in quality loss. For doing this
i used SPAMMER and if you wish just try using this.

ok i used it and burned it to cd and most of the songs sounds close but i can tell some of them the volume is still off.... then i tried another batch of songs and come to find out that the program didnt put all of them at the same volume.... some came close but no cigar.... for example.... if i set the volume for 96 and did apply album gain... some came to 92, some to 97 and some to 90.... a lot of them didnt do the 96 i set.... so did i do something wrong or is it the software?????
