How do I tell which Audio Codec I require?

I have loaded VirtualDubMod and opened a VOB file with it.
I want to extract the audio.

I have gone to STREAMS>STREAM_LIST
I have then right clicked and set the mode to full processing option.

I then clicked SAVE WAV and set a filename, but then I get the message:

"No audio decompressor could be found to
decompress the source audio format"

I have tried this on Win98 at the moment as that has more hard drive space free.

I have tried AviCodec but do not understand what the bottom three lines are telling me.

Can anyone please advise me.
