  1. Hello.

One person had a video i wanted, this video he had was splited in to 5 vob files, he converted 3 of them for me using Winavi converter, than something went wrong, and the next file he converted for me, turned out to be over 1GB, when others came out being about 170MB. and he didn't know what went wrong, than he sent me this VOB file, and i tryed to convert it myself using winavi, but the quality came out bad much worse than the converted files i got from him, the video was badly interlaced. also the result video turned out to have a watermak in the middle of it, which the other files didn't have.

I really need help here, please tell me, what r the correct settings in winavi converter, so the video would come out ok, and is there a different version of winavi that does not leave a watermark?

WinAvi sucks, (and they continously spam this site with "ads" for their crap)
    AutoGK, FairUse, avi.net is recommended.

  3. i am using autogk, right now, i am waiting till the conversion is over than i'll see how did it come out, but you see, i understand that winavi sucks, but my aim is that, the vob file, would come out as avi the a same as the others look, that it would have the same quality

Dvdx2 or vdub (using lst script)

Dvdx2 is dead simple ... anyone can figure it out ... as for virtualmod script .

Open notepad ... if those vob's are on C:\ , then script for vob's will be ...

    c:\vts_01_1.vob
    c:\vts_01_2.vob
    c:\vts_01_3.vob
    c:\vts_01_4.vob
    c:\vts_01_5.vob

Save to same place as vob's are .

When saving , give name as vts_01.lst ... and change that file type to "all file's" ... now save .

In virtualmod , open file , change to "all file type's ... load vts_01.lst

    New box appear's .

    Audio has 2 area's , choose first box , audio as 0x80 , decode to pcm .

Back to video , you may need to fiddle with those option's until the correct aspect ratio is in preview window .

Down below , choose output folder with room ... especially for this wav .

Let it go and you will soon be back in virtualmod's gui (this temp box close's when audio has completed)

    --------------------------

First is video compression , choose xvid ... bitrate around 900 ... you could use two pass , but the number's are different from title to title ... especially when it come's to trying to stuff it onto a single cd ...

Audio , set to full processing , then audio is wav (load that wav audio that was ripped) then conversion (change to 44.1) , then compression ( mpeg layer 3 ... 48kbit/s 24,000 hz , 6 kb/s)

Save as avi ... and wait .

Should you need to put it onto a single cd ... as the bitrate is already quite low , consider using ... video - filters - resize ...
    If pal d1 source (720x576) ... then in the two upper edit box's , enter 620 , and 476 .

Repeat save as avi ... call it test.avi .

After a few minute's , you will beable to tell if it will fit on a single cd .

If it is going over , use resize , and trim 40 off each number , and repeat test .

(Very little is saved by cropping those black bar's off) .

I have shown you one way , so atleast you have an idea on how to use virtualmod

    Give it a try ...

    ==================

As for retaining vob quality in avi ... for xvid , you would need to aim higher than 2500 for bitrate ... more toward's 4500 ... be a great big avi at that rate ...

  5. well, i don't really understand what you're saying, but i did it through autogk, and than everything happened automatically, first virtualdub opened than virtualdubmode opened, and now i am waiting to the end of al of this, the video is being saved to the needed directory. and, my only wish is that the video would be in 512x384 resolution and it wouldn't loose no quality and wouldn't be interlaced, and wouldn't take over 170 mb

  6. ok, i tryed autogk, it gives good quality but my files came out in 320x240 resolution instead of 512x384. I will try this avi.net, i don't really get how to do it with Vmode, i need to resize the video not just convert as it is.

  7. ok, avi net tells me that the aplication failed to install properly, i can't open the programm at all, Fairuse, sys it can not red/find the needed file data.
please tell me, how can i change the resolution to my video when i convert it with autoGK, i need it to be 512x384 pleease.

If you click on "Advanced Settings" in AutoGK, you can specify the width. (The height will be changed too, preserving aspect ratio) The default is Auto, where AutoGK (I guess) uses a size suitable for the bitrate selected.

  10. hmmm, yea, i changed the fixed width otion now to 512 and previewed it, it seems it workd, i am starting to encode it again through autogk, now, i will see what happens in the end.
