Ad-Aware (www.lavasoft.de) and SpyBot (www.safer-networking.net). Beware the imposters and phony sites.

You do not need Winzip if you have WinRAR.

Firefox 1.5.0.4 or Opera 8.54 (if they use Internet Explorer, do them a huge favor and disable the freakin thing and get them to use Firefox or Opera). MVPS HOSTS file. Also, have AVG and/or Avira Antivir handy. Rootkitrevealer from sysinternals.com. Ethereal (comes wit WinPCap 3.1 so you don't need to keep it separately. Perhaps Snort and Nessus if you have a Nessus server that you can use. That's all I can think of for the moment. Tat's pretty much what I keep on my rescue disks aside from some diagnostic and ha><1n toolz.

Good stuff, Crayon. I'd add a few more -

    DirectX 9.0c
FFDshow decoder for Xvid, h264, etc
    Ccleaner (this app rules) http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
