I am trying to transfer an episode of "Parker Lewis Can't Lose" to DVD, but I have a slight problem.

I orginally captured it using a Studio DC10plus, and due to some glitches in the source material in the very beginning, the fields got swapped. Rather than re-do the transfer, I decided to keep it as is when I put it back onto S-VHS. I no longer have the master it was made from, just the S-VHS master with the swapped fields.

I'm recapturing this master with the Video Advantage ADX card, so I would be able to take it into VDub so that I could do pulldown. Can I also fix the flipped fields there, and if so, how would I go about doing that? I would think that since the flipped fields were laid down on tape with a field order directly opposite to itself, reversing the field order on the DV master would just put things out of whack again.

If I'm not able to fix this, will that make pulldown removal impossible--or at the very least, very difficult?

One thing to be aware of: swapping fields is not the same as changing the field order. This is often misunderstood. It's a difficult technical thing to explain, so instead I ask you to post a link to a short unprocessed clip of the video (containing a good motion scene). Then I will be able to help you to decide the correct operation for correcting it. Ping me via PM when it is available.

    Good news.

I found the master tape used to make the DC10plus copy, so now I can re-do the transfer. The Video Advantage ADX seems to be immune to glitches that change the field order.

I'll be posting another one though, from "Drew Carey's Dance Party." That was another bad transfer, and I don't think that the station that's carrying the re-runs will be showing it again, so I'd like to fix this.

It also has audio sync issues, but those are easily fixed. The video issue is the primary concern at this point.
