  1. I have a video file .avi video 352x288 20 frames/sec data rate 77kbps, audio 96 kbps bit rate mpeg layer-3. I'd like to convert this to ntsc vcd to play on dvd player.
TMPGEnc 2.02 does not recognize the file, it play's fine in windows media player though. Can I and how do I convert this to ntsc vcd mpg file?

option> enviromental setting> VFAPI, set direct show multimedia file reader to higher priority. Then you should be able to load the avi as video source. Decompress the audio with VirtualDub to .wav, load it as audio source.
Since the source has a 20 fps rate, TMPG will add / duplicate frames to get the proper VCD framerate, that's why you may end with jerky playback.
