  1. Can anyone suggest a good method for ripping the video from one chapter of a DVD to something like a Targa or RLA sequence? I have been using VIrtualDubMod, but am a little concerned about the fact that while Gspot and every other MPEG investigator I've thrown at this video identifies it as being 29.97 fps, VdubMod insists that it's 23.976, so that's what it spits out. The sequence plays fine in Vegas (proper speed at 23.976), but since I'm trying to maintain lossless quality while I do some rotoscoping on this sequence, I'm worried that I'm actually missing 6fps of data. Anyone have thoughts?

  2. Hi-

    Anyone have thoughts?

Yeah, VDubMod ignores the flagging and gives it to you the way it was encoded, in this case progressive 23.976fps. Pulldown was applied later to make the player output 29.97fps for DVD. You're not missing any frames.
