Italy won by a Referee.

There is no honour for Italy in that win. If Australia had been in the same position I bet they would have kicked the ball out like the true sportsmen they showed themselves to be. Judging by the current match fixing scandal raging in Italy, a win by foul or corrupt means is fine with Italians - so why not take advantage of a penalty everyone knew, bar the Ref, that they did not deserve. Disgusting!

Now there was a well known Croatian ref commenting after the game and he was really pissed off saying that FIFA should dismiss their ref's board because of obvious incompetence, nepotism and even corruption. He said that such refs polute and compromise the sport.

Exactly!!! I hope the European Cup (in 2 years) provokes better refs, although OZ won't be there, I'll be going for Croatia. Its a travesty and unfair what happened 2 Oz, (Jimboh will be happy)
