  1. Well I have a file with a few commericals that I want to cut out, I read the guides on here and they only cut the ending and beginning, is there a way to cut out the COMMERCIALS that are in the middle of the file in 1 step or would I have to cut out each part 1 by 1 and join them after ?

    what's your source?

for avi can you use Virtualdub, select start and stop for the first commercial and press Delete, repeat for all commercials, and last select video->direct stream copy,audio->direct stream copy and file->save avi.

for mpg/mpeg2 use Videoredo and select the commercial and click Cut selection, repeat, and last save as a new mpg.

...or if you're authoring to Video DVD, you can do your cuts in TMPGEnc DVD Author if you use that to author.

I always use WOMBLE MPEG VIDEO WIZARD, where you put all the wanted scenes on a timeline and save as mpg, without recoding. (a 90 minutes movie saves in 10 minutes)
The smaller version is MPEG2VCR, where you simply cut the unwanted scenes and save as mpg.

Avi and vob able ... not a one step process , but if you want precise removal at exact frame's ... it can not be beaten ... it's free .

For mpeg1's I normally process them via a simple avisynth script , and encode using bbmpeg ... output as mpeg2 ... support's all format's ifoedit will accept for dvd authoring .
