ffmpegX claims my .dv files are encrypted

Hello,

Using 0.0.9w on a G5, ffmpegX has stopped working for me when I try to transcode .dv files.

I obtained the DV file by exporting from iMovie, and the file plays fine from QuickTime and VLC. Dragging the file into ffmpegX's source field shows all the correct parameters.

Hitting preview in the filter pane spawns an mplayer icon in the dock, but no window. When I force quit the mplayer icon, ffmpegX shows repeated error messages: "Encrypted VOB file! Read DOCS/HTML/en/dvd.html", and at the end: "MPlayer interrupted by signal 15 in module: demux_open".

Autocrop also doesn't work. No icon shows up in the dock, and when I kill the mencoder process from the terminal, it tells me (of course), Autocrop unsuccessful.

What can I do to tell mplayer/mencoder that I'm giving it DV files and not a DVD?

Maybe save it as MOV?
