hi, jsut placed an order for an x-box 360, can i back-up games, how come on torrent sites ive seen games in brackets (xbox360), im not gona download them, but can i back-up my own games, or even old dvd games for the original x-box

Sure you can back them up. Getting those backups to work is a hardware issue where you will need a mod chip to do so. Some soldering and assembly required.

Dunno about the 360, but with "Series I" XBOXs you could FTP to your XBOX and copy the files from the DVD Drive to your computer. Then use GDFImage to "reverse" compile an ISO image fit for burning to disc (long story short, but with XBOX games the data is read from the outside in, therefore you need a mechanism to "mirror" the ISO image such that when a DVD writer writes it from inside out, it appears OK to the XBOX). You definitely need a chip or other mod to be able to play burnt games, and maybe to set the IP address.Originally Posted by slimpickinsIf in doubt, Google it.
