Hey guys, got another question for ya. So I'm using VDubMod to add black borders to my fansubs: rez is increased from 640x480 to 700x526 (with borders) and recompressed using DivX 6.1.1. When I try to use NeroVision Express to burn the black-borded-fansubs to a DVD, the files are being badly distorted (the image slants about 45* and whatever is cut off of the right side is being displayed on the left side). I was wondering if someone knows why this is occuring and what I could do to correct it.

Assuming NTSC source, 640 x 480 (1:1) is equivelent to 720 x 480 (NTSC D1). By resizing to larger than 640 x 480 you are forcing Nerovision to resize down again to fit the screen. Recompressing to Divx along the way probably isn't doing much for image quality as well.
That said, if Nerovision is butchering the video then it is having problems with with Divx 6.1.1 video, or the resize. You coul dtry encoding with Xvid, to see if Nerovision reads it better, or ditch Nerovision for a btter tools.
The best solution to the fan-sub catastrophe is still FitCD, avisynth and a good encoder.Read my blog here.
