  1. I am trying to extract audio from a movie using VirtualDubMod but i get this error am I missing something

    I'm assuming since you're using VDubMod that you've got a VOB/MPEG2 file (otherwise you prob. would have just used Vdub). DVD's can officially only have 1 of a few kinds: LPCM, AC3 DTS, and MP2.

    You ought to have the mp2 decompressor already. LPCM doesn't need one. That leaves AC3 and DTS.

    Use Gspot beta to find out what kind of stream it is, then see if you can DL an appropriate decompressor for it (here or Doom9 is the best place to start).

    I'd take a guess at the AC3 ACM Decompressor.

    Yes - a codec for your audio.

    GSpot and/or AVICodec and https://www.videohelp.com/play.htm#identify .
