I just tried converting a wmv file I have to mpeg2 with TMPGENC Plus. I set it for 2pass vbr. I watched it analyze the file up until 50% and then it was reencoding so I left and came back 20 minutes later and got this pop up message.
Read error occurred at address 004CCD2F of module 'TMPGEnc.exe' with 00000014.
I tried to google it but nothing came up.

The source might be corrupt....event if it works fine to play.
You could try some other wmv to tools, like windows movie maker and export to avi and convert it. Or try super and convert to mpeg2.
