  1. Does anyone know how I can fix broken AVI's? I have a few that need to be fixed before any programs will let me convert them to mpg.

  2. It all depends how they are broken, but a very good little program called DIVFIX will strip and reconstruct the avi index allowing them to play. I routinely perform this on any downloaded divx avi's, it sometimes corrects audio sync due to 'frozen' frames (make a backup though, as it does change the avi). You should find it easily enough with a google search (as i did!). Hope this helps.

    p.s. if it finds corrupted frames it cannot magically replace lost data but will usually allow them to be played.
