Downloaded a huge Video file and extracted it and it is in a .ISO Umage. Burnt it with NERO onto a DVD and it played well on my DVD. Just that it is NOT a Full screen, and it is watchable. Was just wondering if I can do better by Converting the 4.31 GB .ISO image into DVD format, maybe I can have a Full screen. any suggestions?

What do you mean by "not Full screen" ?

Maybe load one of the VOBs into the latest GSpot (V2.52) and upload it here. https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=271697 can assist.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Stop living in the 20th Century, buy yourself a widescreen TV and watch it as it was meant to be watched.

It should be in DVD format if it was built an ISO/UDF image with a tool like IMGTool Classic.
The VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS files are in the ISO file.Open with WinRAR and take a look.

... and I'D appreciate you giving up this charade of writing in BOLD ITALIC. Isn't regular text good enough for you ?

FWIW, it is actually a constructive solution - you can either change the devices you are playing back on to suit the movie, or re-encode the movie to suit your current playback device. I say current because what happens when you buy your next TV, and it's widescreen ?

Anyhoo, you will need to re-encode if you want Full Screen, or alternatively look for the same DVD in FS 4:3 format and download that.
    If in doubt, Google it.

    Better solution?
Buy either a movie ticket or the DVD.
    Problem Solved.

If you want it full screen you will have to extract the video from the DVD structure, crop it, resize it, re-encode it, lose image quality, lose up to 30% of the actual picture itself, and then put the new cropped and resized video back into the structure. All doable, however the money you could have earned in the hours it will take to do this could have bought you a legitimate copy of the DVD and then some.

All you need to know is in the guides to your left.

I personally think you have a attitude problem. If you want help, you need to get along with us. If not, go someplace else. I am a moderator. If you insist on using bold italics, you will get flak. Depends on what you want. Help or flak. You're not making any friends here if you want help. Moderator redwudz

Then let's start over. Your original question was:

If it is not a full screen, then that's the way it was encoded. It sounds like it was encoded as widescreen, if so, it will show on a regular 4:3 TV as a letterboxed video with black bottom and top to pad it to 4:3. If you have a widescreen TV, it 'might' show properly, depending on your player. If you wanted to convert it to fullscreen, then you would have to crop it or 'Pan and Scan' it to show full screen in the 4:3 regular TV format.

FWIW you got two "suggestions" that directly related to this aspect of your question.

Now, as far as how to go about what you want to undertake, you will need to extract the contents of the ISO (I'm assuming a VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folder), and then look at something like either VOB2MPG to convert each titleset to an MPEG file, or alternatively you could frameserve to your favorite encoder using DGIndex. To be honest, I don't think it will take too long for you to realise that this is a waste of your time

Also do a forum search on "convert widescreen fullscreen" for more information (probably should have done this before you posted your question, anyway).
    If in doubt, Google it.

Thanks again, jimmalenko for your help. Obviously, it was intended for wide screen, for now I can just use my DVD player and do a "zoom" in X times. Sacrifice abit on the resolution, and I apologize for "bouncing" back and taking it sooo...... personally.
U guys are te best when it comes to questions and problems with Videos and movies.

I can understand how he feels about watching a movie in full screen.

I have several times run across people who will watch a DVD that is wide screen and use the ZOOM ... to make the picture fill up their TV screen.

I remember one person who does this and he told me ... that the main character showed on the screen was talking to somebody and my friend was confused ... he couldn't see who he was talking to. He finally used his ZOOM button and Zoomed out ... and saw the other person to the far edge of the screen.

Also at work ... the clients there will use the ZOOM button and watch widescreen movies ... zoomed in ... ugh !!

The TV in my living room is a 51" Sony High Definition ... I like wide screen movies.

So ... there are quite a few people who ... don't ... want to watch wide screen movies.

If they have a choice when buying the DVD or renting it ... they will choose the full screen version.

I always tell my wife ... to make sure you rent the wide screen version.
