    Hello friends!!

I want to create Video DVD of a TV series. It has 14 episodes each of 24 minutes.
All these episodes are in AVI format with video byterate of 1000kbps and audio byterate of 128kbps.

Is there any way to fit all these episodes on one DVD with no loss in quality.

I want to create menus like in Nero Vision Express.

I will play created DVD on Standalone DVD player not on DIVX player.

    Anxiously waiting for your reply!

    The quick answer is NO.

To fit 7 hours onto one single layer DVD will require a lot of loss of quality.

Best to split this over 2 or more DVDs my friend.

To fit the 7 hours on a dual-layer DVD you will get a lesser loss of quality.

  5. You could use DL but only half of the players would play it.

You have to author them to several DVD Rs. No way around that without masive loss of quality.
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

    A) 5 episodes/disc at close to the same q as your source files
    or
    B) Encode to VCD specs mpg and lose lots of quality, but may possibly cram it all on to one disc.

using a bitrate calculator, I've detmined you'll need a bitrate of 1222 to fit 7 hours on a dvd (with 224 audio). The closest standard to this bitrate is VCD. VCD is 1150 kbit/sec MPEG-1 compression at 352x240, and 29.97fps. This, however, is a drastic decrease in quality. You can use TMPGEnc Plus (or another vcd encoder) to convert your files to VCD specs. Once they're VCD-complient, you can use TMPGEnc DVD Author to author the DVD. It will accept the VCD files as DVD-complient.

I've also managed to tweak the VCD settings a bit in TMPGEnc,for better quality, and they're still accepted by TMPEnc DVD Author. I'll make the files VBR and crank up the Motion Search Precision to it's Highest level. With these settings you VCD's might not look too bad...

The DVD specs for VCD frame size isn't limited to 1150 max as VCD - it's 1856 kbps. But nevertheless, it's low res, and low bit rate. And will be far from "no loss in quality".

    Easy/Fast way:
Use convertxtodvd, and do 7 eps each to a SL DVD or all 14 to a DL DVD.

    Longer/More control:
Convert to Half D1 (352 x 480) using a dedicated encoder such as TMPGEnc and encode at 3000kbps CBR. Again, 7 eps should fit on a SL DVD or all 14 on a DL DVD.
    If in doubt, Google it.
