  4. Vobsub -> go to the instalation folder, execute uninstall.exe (or similar, I don't remember)
    VDubMod -> delete the folder

thanks alot for the reply an help dude , but when i installed this thing i did it from the link on the site, an it said install it to the folder where virtdub is located, so thats what i did. Now Ive went an delted all the folders ,, everything except for the lil installer that I got from here , incase I needed to re-install it. same for vdub , I went thru my registry an deleted all the freeware folder which vdub is vdub , an the gabset folder which was for vobsub 2.23

now as pere your instuctions - I went to my program files folder in the pc hd section an deleted the gabset folder with the vobsub stuff there too , but I didnt see no folders that pertainedd to virtdub ,,

anyhow I cant seem to find the folder with an with an excute exe uninstall .

but anhow my cnoapus is still doing this, an I even un-installed it, [tryed to repair it 1st]
deleted any folder ness to it, an re-boot then re-install it all over then , then reboot - again - then tryed - -

and still getting the aggrivat'n pop up , an its still slowin it down at first..

and this is damn brand new PC , I aint had it a week , an im afraid if I keep looking for stuff to delete an messin with the registry Im gonna end up f'n something else up , that hasn nothing to do with this.

But , now that i think of it is there a way I can add the subs thru canopus - while I encode an avi file to an mpeg1 file??

    DESPERATLY CONFUZED???!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

    thanks

idx/subs are vobsubs which are bitmap based. In other words, not textsubs. I would suggest VSFilter instead of vobsub/textsub. It contains both (for AVISynth and VDub), just newer versions.

now do do I make it just plain

homemovie.avi [with the subs showing up in the final product]?

    Avisub

    or

    Sub2DivX

They both work for me with idx/sub in the same directory. Sub2divx needs bmptoxsub.exe and DivXMux.exe which were not in the install I selected but had links on the same download site.

btw) The output file will have a .divx extension which you can rename to avi if you want.

I've also been at this a long time but just started playing with subs.
