I want to merge a Xvid Video file with a .srt subtitles file so i can use nero vision express to burn it and watch it on my dvd player. I tried to load the movie file into VirtualDub and it says:

"Virtualdub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatable codec to decompress video, DirectShow codes such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable."

I was just wondering if anybody knows any programs that would allow me to do the merging of the subtitles.

Or can i just burn the subtitles file on the disc with the movie? my DVD player is a General Electric thats about 3-4 years old would it work?

G Spot Screen included for video file details.

Upgrade to g-spot 2.52beta for better details and information, and mpeg2 compatability.

Which Xvid coedec do you have installed ? Xvid opens fine for me in virtualdub.

use convertxtodvd instead, add avi and subs and convert.

or if you want a free tools test avi2dvd,thefilmmachine.

but if you want permanent subtitles in the avi for nero then check our subtitle forum for a guide.
