Hi,
I would like to record what's on my desktop screen to VHS.
I have a Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 TV Out card with a S-Video port on the back.
If I connect a VCR to the Graphics card using The S-Video will this be enough?
Will this only give me picture and not sound.
How and what do I need to use?
Many thanks in advance

I have done it before with my ATI 7500 card. It has S-Video and audio out. I was able to tape the Powerpoint presentation complete with sound. Because my VCR has no S-video In, I use my Digital 8 camcorder.

You will find sound on the "Line Out" connector on your sound card or motherboard.

I've connected the video the PC using a S-Video to Scart lead, but I'm getting no picture or sound.
Do I have to enable my tv out option? -
usually,
see display properties advanced and read the display card manual.Recommends: Kiva.org - Loans that change lives.

usually, depends on the card. Follow the instructions.
If your card is still a 5200, search the archives. I remember one guy finally finding the secret handshake to get the thing to work. -
I've got it to work sort of.
I can record what's on the desktop, but if i play sosmething in any media player then i get nothing but a black screen.
Also no audio, i've disconnect my speakers from my pc and connected the vcr to the motherboard sound plug but nothing
any ideas?
