  1. i was thinking of buying a hard to find video from itunes... i guess it would be h264 or x264 or mp4 or whatever they use. in the past, when i ran into this format, it hasn't been the easiest to convert to VCD or DVD. anyone know if itunes videos have digital rights mgmt or are difficult to convert?

    thanx

  2. Yes Difficult, They have DRM, Best way would be to Play the Video Out to a Recorder.

What I've done is burn it to a CDRW as an audio CD, then rip that to MP3 with CDEX.

Why would anyone want to view an itunes image anywhere other than an iPOD?

Put that low-res image on anything but a tiny screen and you can see it for what it is - CRAP.

Have to admit I never saw any use for those tiny quicktime images either.

Eh. My sister's bought some videos from iTunes (primarily for her iPod), and from what I've seen in passing, they actually do look decent when she watches them full-screen in iTunes (and she's using a monitor with a resolution somewhere well over 1024x768 (I just don't remember what resolution it is -_-).)
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?

Just out of curiosity I downloaded the trial version of Replay Screencast and gave it a try with some iTunes video I bought a while back. I recorded one minute (the max in the trial version) of the pilot episode of Night Stalker and converted it to VCD with Nero.

I was expecting crappy results too but came away pretty impressed.

I HATE buying software (I had rather go through 3-4 freeware programs to get the same results as a 'one click' program I have to pay for) but this time I made an exception and bought the program.

I have recorded several DRM videos, converted them to VCD, SVCD or DVD with Nero and so far I've been satisfied with the results.
